About Attorney John Evans:

He has written and lectured extensively on School Law. He is a native Coloradan, former State Senator, former At-large Member of the State Board of Education.
John Evans is a fifth generation Coloradan. John graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Colorado. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Denver. An Army veteran, he served his nation as a military policeman and received the Army Commendation Medal. With a Ph.D. in educational leadership and a Juris Doctor in Law, he has worked as a law professor teaching school law and collective bargaining, constitutional law, contracts, administrative law and ethics.
John was a professor of Educational Administration at San Jose State University teaching School Law and Collective Bargaining. He also was a law professor at San Joaquin College of Law teaching Education Law, Contracts, Administrative Law, and Ethics. He has a keen interest in public service and served as the attorney for the TABOR Initiative author Doug Bruce in U.S. District Court in 1992. In 1994, he was elected to represent the State of Colorado on the State Board of Education. In 1999, he began to serve as a State Senator from Douglas, Arapahoe, Jefferson and Elbert Counties. Elected to Assistant Majority Leader in the Senate, John led the fight for lower taxes, less government, higher education accountability, and reform of public schools. John rewrote the Colorado Corporate Code, the Education Code in the training of teachers and principals and was honored by the Colorado Bar Association for reforming legislation in probate law. To lower taxes for senior citizens and the military veterans, John became the first legislator in Colorado history to pass two amendments to the Colorado Constitution. John is an author of numerous treatises on Educational Policy and Law and Parental Governance of Public Education.
John is working for companies, agencies and people from all over Colorado. He is admitted to practice before the United State Supreme Court and State Supreme Court, Federal Courts in three states and Colorado District Courts. John@mainstreetLEGAL.com
